Neuro-Enhance (Semax/Selank)

Technical Monograph

The Neuro-Enhance stack is a comprehensive cognitive protocol combining Semax and Selank. Developed by the Russian Institute of Molecular Genetics, this combination is heavily researched for its neurotrophic and anxiolytic properties.

Mechanism of Action

Semax acts via melanocortin receptors to massively upregulate Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) in the forebrain. Selank modulates GABAergic pathways and enkephalin degradation, exerting a strong anxiolytic effect without sedation.

Pharmacological Detail

Semax rapidly increases dopaminergic and serotonergic transmission tone. Selank inhibits enkephalinase, prolonging the action of endogenous stabilizing endorphins.

Pharmacodynamics

Combining these pathways yields a state of profound, anxiety-free cognitive focus and an enhanced capacity for information consolidation.

Pharmacokinetics

Highly susceptible to gastric breakdown. Administered either parenterally or intranasally for direct CNS access via the olfactory nerve.

Preclinical Observations & In Vitro Data

Semax/Selank are approved therapeutics in parts of Eastern Europe for stroke recovery and generalized anxiety disorder. Data cited from published literature.

Cognitive Ischemia Recovery (Clinical): Improved functional recovery indices and behavioral scores reported.

Abstract Highlights

  • Massive upregulation of BDNF and TrkB receptors
  • GABAergic pathway modulation yielding anxiolysis
  • Protection against neurotoxicity and hypoxia
  • Enhanced learning capability documented in animal models
